In this blog post we will demonstrate how you can connect Celonis EMS to Oracle EBS Release 12 to analyze the Receivables process. Celonis has standard process connectors available for Oracle EBS Release 12. The AR connector is one of them.<\/p>

We start with making a connection to the Oracle EBS R12 database. This could be the operational database, a replicated copy or e.g. a data lake. There are different ways how this connection and data transfer can be implemented. For this example we choose for a direct database connection that contains replicated data from an Oracle EBS R12 instance. We enter the connection settings for the database and the credentials.<\/p>

In Celonis EMS we go to the Celonis Marketplace and select the connector for Accounts Receivable for Oracle E-Business Suite. The connector will extract the relevant data, it will transform the data into an eventlog and it will load the data into the Celonis Process Mining engine.<\/p>

We click on the \u2018Accounts Receivable\u2019 tile and we can see the details of the connector. The Apps in the Marketplace that work with this connector are also displayed. We click on \u2018Connect Process\u2019 and select the connection with Oracle EBS that we defined before.<\/p>

The connector has a number of parameters. The \u2018Language\u2019 parameter determines the language for the data extraction. The \u2018Reporting Currency\u2019 parameter determines the currency for the reporting amount calculations. With the \u2018Currency Conversion Type\u2019 parameter we can select the rate type for the reporting amount calculations.<\/p>

We choose for \u2018Open Data Pool\u2019 so that we can check the extractions and transformations before the execution. We click on the extraction \u2018Extract Oracle EBS AR Tables\u2019 so that we can see what tables will be extracted. Under \u2018Transformations\u2019 we see the transformations for the generation of the eventlog and the related views and tables. We do not change any of the seeded extractions and transformations.<\/p>

We click on the \u2018Process Data Models\u2019 link to open the data model for the AR process. This data model contains the activities table (the eventlog), the cases table and all related tables and views.<\/p>

Workday calculations use the Calendar of the data model. We choose to use the calendar in Celonis but we could also choose to define a new calendar that could be based on the workday calendar in Oracle EBS.<\/p>

We start the execution of the Data Job. The first step is the extraction of the data from the Oracle EBS database. The second step is the transformation of the data to the event log. The last step is the loading of the data model. We can choose for a full load or a delta load. As this is the initial load we choose for full load.<\/p>

During the execution of the data job we can review the status of the individual steps. We wait until all the steps are completed successfully.<\/p>

The data job is finished now and all the data is loaded into the Celonis Process Mining engine. We define a new analysis and add the Process Explorer. The process model is displayed automatically and we start with analyzing the process. We can now also install any of the AR Apps from the Apps Store to analyze the data in more detail.\"\"<\/p>
